Nana & Pop's Place

Last Monday I packed up the boys and headed to Nana & Pop's house. It was a welcomed milestone for Kelan, as he's finally become comfortable riding in the car. Braden frolicked in the dirt, a favorite pastime, and Kelan rolled around the floor, his preferred mode of operations these days.

Braden refueling with some crackers while covered in dirt he'd thrown on himself.
Life's simple pleasures.

Cousin Elle showed off her latest moves for us. We are so proud of her! It's such a joy to share in her growing experience. As we've learned with our own boys, this time is so fleeting. A time to remember and cherish forever.

Zoo Time

We headed out early this morning for a family trip to the zoo. We had beautiful weather and picnicked in the park after our exploration. Nothing like running amok in the park to wear out a two year old... and his parents too.

Kelan mugging for the camera.

Our little Thomas the Tank Engine fan got to take a spin around the zoo on the train.
I could barely get him to sit he was so excited.

Bumbo!

The last time Braden enjoyed the confines of the Bumbo seat was when he was about 4 months old. Our little skinny mini still fits in it... even though it's really intended for Kelan.

Jumperoo!

Kelan enjoying his new level of independence in the Jumperoo. He took to it like a fish to water.

Even More Big Boy Milestones

Braden
Per Braden's request last night, he slept in his BIG boy bed. I thought I might be transferring him to his crib about 20 minutes after tucking him in. But no, he slept soundly through the night. I, on the other hand, was up every few hours, straining to hear the monitor, thinking I might have heard him stir. I'm finding it hard to turn off Mommy Mode, even at night now. Hopefully I'll outgrow it by the time the boys are 18 and 20, respectively. Ha!

Kelan
Kelan had his 4 month pediatrician appointment yesterday. He is, indeed, our BIG boy! He weighed in at 16 lbs. 11 oz and is 27 inches long. I dare say Kelan will be wrestling in his big brother's weight class soon. He also had his first taste of food last night. He made lots of funny faces, but managed to eat quite a bit of rice cereal. I'm hoping that more food translates into more sleep... for everyone.

Braden's Big Boy Bed

Ready or not, we began Braden's transition from the crib to his Big Boy Bed. These photos are from today, his second go at napping in his new room. I went to check on him mid-nap and this is what I found. Good job, little buddy!

Day Dream Believer

He hasn't quite figured out HOW or WHERE to sleep on his bed.
But as long as he's sleeping, right?

Notice the shutters wide open.
I closed them before he went down.

Big Boy Booster

In preparation of Kelan's 4 months pediatrician appointment next Monday (his Dr. will start him on solid food!), I set up his new booster seat. Kelan was immediately engaged in playing with the toys. He has terrific fine motor skills for a little guy. When it's eating time, the toys pop off and it becomes a food tray.

Thanks again, Jenny, for the fun and useful gift!

Our Little Chunky Monkey

Hard to believe he'll be 4 months old on Friday.
It's a joy to watch him grow every day!
We feel lucky.

Country Cousin Visit

Our cousins, Betsy and Angela, came to visit on Saturday.
Braden and Kelan enjoyed the enthusiastic playtime with both of them.
Thanks for traveling to see us!

And thank you Nana Widge for the ADORABLE new outfit for Kelan (pictured).
Do you know Mommy's taste, or what?!?! ;o)
